About Us

La Carreta Mexican Restaurant & Bar, in Louisville, KY, is the leading Mexican restaurant serving Valley Station, Prairie Village, Shively, West Point, Fort Knox, Medora and surrounding areas since 2012. We offer tacos, burritos, fajitas, enchiladas, quesadillas, seafood, appetizers, salads, vegetarian options, desserts, a full bar and much more. Our Story

Our founder, Edras Vega, was ambitious about starting his own business he could call his own. Edras has a vision to provide the community of Louisville, Kentucky a local place where they could enjoy authentic Mexican food without having to travel a great distance. In 2012, he established La Carreta Mexican Restaurant & Bar, and we’ve been cooking up delicious Mexican dishes for over 10 years since. Our dishes are authentic to the flavors of Mexico, not Americanized Mexican or Tex-Mex, so that our customers can get a true taste of Mexico right here in Kentucky.

We offer a quality dine-in experience with all of your favorite Mexican offerings including a wide selection of burritos, fajitas, tacos, quesadillas, combination plates and more. Our full service bar has plenty of options for you to choose from depending on your preferences, and our patio seating makes it easy to enjoy a few drinks with the company of great people. We take great pride in offering an inviting and lively atmosphere filled with the best Mexican cuisine around.

We go the extra mile to give back to our community and provide only the best food and drink options for them to choose from. We offer a kids menu and a vegetarian menu so that our food can be enjoyed by everybody of all ages and dietary preferences. We also offer military discounts to show support and appreciation for our troops when they stop in for a bite. We’ve built strong, personable relationships with our customers over the years and look forward to building many more!
